I reached New Delhi, Capital of India on February 10, 2007. As least expected, it was raining heavily over there. Since, I was not all prepared to greet rain at Delhi, the thunder shower really greeted me !!! We were not knowing that this rain will continue next day also... and eventually killed us spirit to move out.. By evening, showers were less, so we took a cab and just moved in side the city. Took some snaps of India Gate at night. It is really marvellous structure built in the memory of more than 90000 Indian soldiers who lost their lives during the Afghan Wars and World War I. Believe me, it wakes up the patriotism in you !!!
So that day, ended peacefully as any other day !!! Next day, thank god !! rain gods were showing some sympathy on us, so it didn't rain, we set out to see much bigger and well known places of Delhi, it included Rajghat, a memorial to Mahatma Gandhi - a simple black marble platform that marks the spot of his cremation on 31st january 1948. Garden set up over there was superB...
Then we set our focus to Jantar Mantar, its not as impressive as the Jantar Mantar of Jaipur..
I felt it as a small replica of the original Jantar Mantar
Then we went to a temple, Birla Mandir, had some spiritual intake.. and set our mission to capture Qutab Minar...
Qutab Minar, marvellous sand stone structure which is claimed to be biggest tower ever built in India.
Nothing more to be told about the same, only pictures or videos are effective in translating what I saw over there.
